A LETTER FROM THE VENIERO'S FAMILY TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS:
We feel it is our responsibility to explain to our customers what the present situation is at Veniero’s,
regarding the recent Health Department citation.
We have been in the same landmark location continuously for 114 years. During that
time, the many generations of Venerio’s have taken great pride in offering bakery
products of the highest quality. This year, Veniero’s has begun a very aggressive and
extensive renovation project in order to update and improve our present facility.It so
happens that the building immediately next door to us is also undergoing major
construction. During this time of construction, Veniero’s has continued with the
aggressive cleaning and extermination program that we have had in place for decades.
Veniero’s takes very seriously the importance of maintaining a sanitary baking facility.
In the past we have worked closely with the Health Department to insure that we were in
compliance with their regulations. We believe that our temporary failure to meet their
criteria is due, in part, to the disruption of the building’s structural environment caused by
our and our neighbor’s renovation projects.
We assure our loyal customers that, at no time, was the quality of our product an issue.
For over a century, Veniero’s has provided the finest authentic Italian cakes and pastries
in New York City, and we will continue to do so in the future. Our current renovation
project will allow us to improve production, maintain our high standard of product
quality,and better control the environment of our baking and distribution facility.
The Veniero family hopes that our loyal customers understand our current temporary
disruption to our business. We are hopeful that a thorough and aggressive compliance
program, that we are now undertaking, will result in a timely reopening of Veniero’s for
business.
